 TOURISM in PIANCAVALLO Piancavallo has been the first Italian skiing resort to preview a system of artificial snowing and for many years it has accommodated several feminine contests of the alpine ski World Cup. The locality of Piancavallo offers over 24 Km of alpine ski tracks and 26 km for the cross-country ski, of which 1,2 km of illuminated paths, several tracks for the snowboard (half pipe, freestyle) and snowtubing. From 1970 it is held yearly the Rally of Piancavallo and numerous contests that are organized by the Italian Federation of Hockey and Skating. Very important is the contest of the 6 hours of cross-country, a ski maratona that it has always been held in Piancavallo, along a ring of 3 km. In summer Piancavallo organizes various meaningful gastronomical and cultural events. |
