Description:
Our new Hotel is located on the island of Salina, in the quiet and relaxed village of Lingua, next to the old salt lake from which the island takes it’s name, is set the Hotel La Salina Borgo di Mare.
The hotel, set in gardens, just a few metres from the crystal clear waters of the Tyrrhenian sea, is part of a complex of traditional buildings that have been restored with the highest respect for the traditional Aeolian architecture style.
The Salina Hotel is the work of architect, furniture designer and interior designer Jacky Cavagnari, who has created a splendid fusion of traditional Aeolian architecture and innovative styling.
Hotel La Salina Borgo di Mare has 24 rooms, most of them with views of the sea.
Two have disabled access.
All rooms have a private terrace, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar and safe. There is a comfortable bar, open all day.
The hotel is surrounded by gardens, with views across the sea to the islands of Panarea, Stromboli, Lipari and Vulcano.
Alongside the hotel is the salt lake of Lingua, which is a halting ground for migratory birds such as the Aironi Cinerini and the Fenicotteri Rosa.

- From Milazzo:
Siremar and Ustica Lines run a regular hydrofoil service to Salina. If you are travelling by car, Argoferries, N.G.I. and Siremar all run ferries, at least once daily, to the island. Both ferries and hydrofoils are more frequent in summer. Booking is only necessary in August.
- From Reggio Calabria and Messina:
Ustica Lines run one hydrofoil daily throughout the year, more in summer.
- By air:
* to Reggio Calabria: Airone and Alitalia fly from Milan, Alitalia fly also from Rome. From here you can take the hydrofoil direct to Santa Marina Salina.
* to Catania: If you land there with any flights, there is a direct bus from Catania Airport to Milazzo (Giuntabus) and to Messina (SAIS).
